Arch R supports 43 motherboard revisions across R36S, R33S, K36, RX6S, Anbernic RG351V/M, Odroid Go Advance/Super, Powkiddy RGB10/RGB10X/RGB20S, GameForce Chi, MagicX XU10/XU-Mini-M, BatLexp G350 and every documented soysauce/Y3506 clone.

Yes. Arch R is GPLv2 licensed, free to download and modify. All sources are on GitHub and the entire image is built reproducibly with a single `make docker-RK3326` command.

Does Arch R use proprietary GPU drivers?

Accepted Answer

No. The default Mali-G31 stack is Mesa Panfrost, fully open source. The proprietary ARM libmali blob is shipped as an opt-in alternative and can be toggled from the EmulationStation Graphics menu; both auto-fallback to the other if binding fails.

Splash appears at 0.7 seconds and EmulationStation is interactive at 19 seconds from cold power-on, measured on a stock R36S with class-10 SD.

Upload your console firmware DTB and the generator extracts panel timings, MIPI init sequences and GPIO wiring in your browser via Pyodide. It produces a mipi-panel.dtbo overlay compatible with both ArchR and ROCKNIX. Your DTB never leaves the page.
